"Vietnam No Regrets" by, J. Richard Walkins. After graduating High School in 1968, J. Richard Watkins enlisted in the U.S. Army. By October of the same year, he was preparing for his service in Vietnam. After a year of active duty, most of which was spent in an office somewhere in the middle of Kansas, Watkins requested combat duty. “What would I tell family and friends about my service if I spent it safely tucked away in an office while drafted men were being forced to participate in war? I knew what I signed up for, and I wanted to be a part of it.” Vietnam, No Regrets is the culmination of those experiences.
